First Offline Client... And I Need Backlinks!

So im about to do some SEO work for 2 clients and was wondering the best ways to backlink. I know there are people selling backlink packets and what not, but how do they find them? And or are there better ways? The seo companies from what i can tell mix it up with articles, blogs and paid links.

    Most common ways are writing and distributing articles, submitting your links to link directories.

    For link building tools and softwares your best friend is Google

    And the long-term solution is to build a website worth linking to - so visitors will start linking to it by themselves.

    What do you mean there's not much on the site? The software itself is in the members-only section that Google cannot access.

    Back linking takes a long time but if you put in the effort, you will get to taste the fruit.

    I personally like article marketing, blog commenting and forum posting.

    Write quality articles on your niche & submit to ezinearticles & other top article directories, website/blog owners who find your article useful will in turn publish them on their sites/blogs, this process is viral. Your backlinks will eventually grow for sure.

    So, let me get this straight.....you sold something you don't know how to do?

    Sad.

    I think I'll go sell myself as a plumber, or maybe an electrician....something I have no idea how to do.
