Make sure at the bottom of each article you give them somewhere to go.
Related article links or just one link to the next article you want them to look at, this will funnel them through your site and the will end up where you want them to be.

That should help your bounce rate alot

build nice sitebar with link to other article also. I notice big change when I use small photo in sitebar with headline from other article on my blog.

below 40 % considered as a good bounce rate. You need to put some interesting factors into your webpage. The page content should be of high quality so reader can involve in reading without leaving the page.

It always better to have another related post at the bottom of the posts for people to navigate through will certainly help to make them to stay back. If possible include the sliders in the home page that certainly attracts people.

Here are the reasons I would instantly bounce from your home page:

1) It looks like a wedding site, not a technical site. The flowery design belongs on a wedding card, not a high-tech website. One look and I would be gone.

2) The first thing I see is a post about somebody's problem with yahoo[sic]. I could care less. There is nothing to tell me what the site is about, what I can find on the site, and why I should stay and browse a little. No welcome message. No statement of purpose. It just starts with an arbitrary post.

3) That same post has in humongous font size "Your browser settings..." Why can't you clamp a lid on such out-of-place and distracting font sizes that do not belong in anybody's posts?

4) Your navigation is unclear. At the very top you have "Projects", "Resources". Projects is about you, and resources opens to another blog page where in order to find anything of interest a visitor has to scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll and then scroll more. This is not one bit visitor-friendly.

I could go on, but the simple truth is that because your website is just a blog, it is very hard for people to find things they may be interested in. So, they leave.

Properly used, a blog page is all about one topic. People can go from one intersting post about that topic to the next one, and there is a high probability each post will interest them. On your blog, the topics have such a wide scope that there is little probability any post will interest them. For example, the first post under "Electronics", which covers everything from iPods to microwave ovens, is "Lasers". Why would I care about that?

Your blog lacks a clear focus. It tries to cover way too much. That's why people bounce.

That theme header is brutal on the eyes.

The site content isn't focused on a single subject & the category I looked at (Electronics - How to make high powered laser) has a single page of content which doesn't give traffic searching for how to make a laser anyplace on your site to go when they're finished reading that single laser page. Your actually sending traffic away from your site to Youtube instead of embedding the Youtube Iframe video in your page & keeping traffic on your own domain. Once you send traffic to Youtube they're gone... they'll wander off watching other videos.

100% of external links should always open in a new browser window/tab, that keeps your web page open in the traffics browser & makes it easier for them to keep browsing/converting on your own domain.

First of all use instinctive navigation for significant items. Create best design for your website. Poor design increasingly less acceptable. Your design is more attractive and always split us very large post.

Be mindful of your ad placement. Some visitors can accidentally click an advertising that is too close to your website navigation. This forces the visitors to leave your site. Also, the theme seemed not that related to your topic. Try a theme that looks more techie. To lower your site’s bounce rate, aside from the relevant and interesting content, other factors that can contribute for organic traffic are the design of the page, fast loadable site, etc.

Your theme made me want to leave. Something about that design just tells me to click the 'x'.

You definetly have to keep your visitors interested...

Such as: "CLICK HERE for more info!" Or something catchy along those lines. YOu have to keep giving out information to keep them their on your page, but my best advice would be to give them another page to visit that they can click on and recievce more info about whatever you are selling...

Then make money! lol

I don't have to worry about that too much becuase of my autoresponders and capture page and such...

One thing that you can try and IMO will be quite effective is providing the related posts link (internal links only) throughout the body of the contents as well at the bottom of the post.

I suggest you change your theme. It seems too distracting. Also organize it better by adding recent posts, top posts categories on the sidebar. Make it easier for your readers to find what they are looking for. Also, find out where your traffic exits, if they click on your ads then good for you but if they click back then then are not happy with your site.

I think it's time for you to do somechanges in the layout of your site to engage the audience!

improve your navigation, you can conver simple articles into gallery, that would increase your pageviews too

Bounce rate is calculate by avg visiting time on website. If avg time is 6 mins and people are staying 1 or 2 min only than bounce rate will be high. So you can place interesting video on your website. Other interesting or amazing pictures as well.
