Next best step after contacting webmasters about unnatural links...

Hello,

I am working on getting some unnatural links removed that Google has notified me about. I've been contacting the webmasters of all the sites, but I don't believe it's going to be fruitful in getting them deleted.

What is the next best step after contacting all of these people? Do I do the disavow? Or is there some other step that is better first?

    Use the google disavow tool...

    Document everything that you did, present it to Google along with the disavow. They're going to want to see 80-90% of those links gone...pretty much any link you built yourself.
