How far can I go with content?

Hello,

If I have a very tight webpage, lets say "how to use instagram" then how far can I go with the content? How related should it be?

If I check top rankings for specific keywords (how to bla bla - for example) Then I see 2 kind of websites:

A) Big authority sites with 5000+ indexed pages and specific post is ranking quite high (which logical)
B) Sites with 5-6 pages that are all highly targeted to the main keyword

I cant see any sites that 100 indexed pages and are quite related to the main keyword.

Now, lets say I have a site about how to use instagram, but I still want to post some half-related posts that I find useful. What should I do?

For example:

a) how to get more instagram followers
b) what kind of pictures are "cool" for instagram
c) 100 funny instagram facts

As you can see, those posts are half-related to the main keyword, but not 100%.

... and most of the time my sites are getting hit by Panda, which is awful and the only reason I figured is that my site is not 100% targeted to the main keyword. However, on the other hand, when I build similar sites with only few posts then they tend to rank MUCH higher and are totally immune for the Panda.

So now I have approx 30 indexed articles, which 15 of them are not really related with the keyword "how to use instagram". Should I delete those articles and see what happens or...?

In either way, if my rankings doesnt improve and panda trigger does not release, then I would try this. Just for my own case-study to see if my theory sticks.

This is the problem if we target specific keyword. it is naturally hard to build lot of unique pages on same product keywords. i found a trick, just write content on different things like news or any subject slightly related or even non related topics just to keep updating in big G eyes but in home page make sure that visitors see your product pages for low bouncing rate and informative for users.

Since they are striving for a more "human" web, overtly focused 1 page sites get lower ranking than something with authority.
Why not branch out? Write about other topics, entirely unrelated to Instagram, to raise your overall authority? If they are in the same niche, or even if not, you'll be getting up the SERPs. Think about those huge authority sites, they didn't grow in a day.

You could also try throwing some links to high-PR sites in your content. If a page aggregates multiple "high quality" informative links on a subject, I think that helps too.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that list If they were page titles on the same domain.

You could have 1,000 pages about instagram, it's not spammy until you make it spammy, so create useful content.
