High PR links to help local SEO

Hi Warriors

I have a local business site that I am trying to rank for my "keyword + city".

I have created a free ad on Gumtree, Truelocal, Yelp so I have some links from local sources. I have a Google Plus page and a Facebook page linking to my site.

I am wondering whether high PR links from a private network (completely private used only by me) would be of benefit?

I am proposing to use them in this way:

1. Create 10 sites about my local city, famous landmarks in my city etc. I will host them with Australian webhosts.
2. Link the high PR sites to the 10 sites about my city so they pass the link juice from the high pr sites but they are relevant and local links that are coming to my sites.

Do you think this will work to get some powerful local links coming to my site that are completely within my control?

    You need to do it naturally: use natural PR domains and build natural looking websites.
    Google can easily recognize spammy blogs today.

    I don't find anything wrong with your plan. When you are linking with the high PR sites, make sure they are all relevant.

    Definitely works just like writer88 said, relevance helps, but if you're on a money/time budget to set something relevant up, it will still work very well.

    Your plan is good. But I would recommend to go for more contextual link building and make sure you are doing (getting) the links naturally that is what recent Search engine optimisation changes figured out. There are many free blog platforms or the sites that allow you to create free mini sites, you can use those sites and create a well-content rich blogs and mini-sites and drive good social signals to those traffic. As a results backlinks from those blogs & mini-sites will carry you more value and will give you better results on search engine like Google.

    Social Networking is very important too, make sure you join the top sites like youtube, pinterest, twitter, facebook, chimein, linkedin, etc... then add your url to them and also very important create a about.me page and interlink all the sites above to it.. that will get you some link juice.

    Is very possible to succed! Also, take in consideration:
    - list your link in local citation websites, and bookmark these new links via several real human accounts;
    - put your link on local blogs (that will associate your anchor text with your targeted city), then boookmark these links via several human profiles.
