Hi everyone,
I start my day with developing or creating some content as the time passes I feel tired and when times come for some seo things I get lazy. Often I get distracted I don't think I even work for more than 5 hours. Every night I make plan for coming day (like working for 10 hours without getting into distraction, getting up early in morning ) but everything fails.

I am just curious to know how much time you spend and how do you manage your time. How much you thing your time management helped you.

Thanks for sharing your secrets :-)

  • Apnavarun,

I am by no means an authority on time management however I’ll share some things that have worked for me.

Don’t plan too much in your day. Even though you want to get 20 things done and may technically have time for it, schedule 12 things instead. Those numbers are just examples. The idea is, don’t overload yourself if you don’t have to. That way you can get everything done and feel good about getting things accomplished as opposed to trying to do everything and failing and then being hard on yourself because you couldn’t get everything done (even though you got a lot done anyway).

Swallow the frog first. This is an expression. If you wake up in the morning and swallow a frog, that would be horrible, but every other task in your day would be easy because that was the worst thing. Take the same approach with tasks you have to get done. When you wake up in the morning, do the most undesirable thing first if you can. That way, other tasks will be easier to complete.

Consciously avoid distractions. Sometimes it takes a while to figure out what distracts you but once you know, organize your day to avoid those things. For instance if you work in an area where you have the TV on and it distracts you, work in an area where there is no TV or tell yourself you can turn it on after getting x amount of things done.

Maybe you can find some more tips here,

How to manage your time effectively

    Hope that helps,

As a seo professional, I need to track keep track of the main keywords and its ranking all the time. Besides that i should work to get more quality backlinks too. So i have planned to try some time management software, to keep track of my time and tasks.

For a long time, i have searched for some good tracking application. Then, one of my friend have suggested Replicon's cloud-based time recording software. I have started to using it and now everything is going in a very organized way.
