I have had a adwords account which has a below average history from when i was learning adwords. The overall CRT is below 0.44 and would be hard to recover because alot of impressions which destroyed my CTR which were from the content network (didn't switch it off, when i launched a campaign) Anyway would it be worthwhile to start a brand new account from scratch?

Well yes, because google also looks at your account history when determining CPC.

Chini that is a good question which also interests me. My Adwords account isn't so hot either and I am starting to learn how it works and the importance of keeping a quality Adwords account.

If you do decide to open another account, make sure you completely close down your existing account otherwise you'll get banned.

No, you don't need to close your account.

    1) Content network CTRs and Search CTRs are weighted completely seperately. See here:

Quality Score for the content network - AdWords Help

"Note that Quality Score is calculated separately for Google and the search network."

In fact, a 0.44% CTR on the content network is INSANELY GOOD. I've personally never managed to get it that high. Hell, I know six figure affiliates who make a lot of money on the content network who can't get a 0.44% CTR on content.

    2) You don't need to close your old account to open a new one. Open as many accounts as you want as long as it's connected to an MCC account. Setting up an MCC account takes about 15 minutes.

    Cheers,

    Just say you're an agency.
