This is a lot of fun to do in your niche.

Whack some spam sites in your spare time.

I know for some people it works like this.
SPAM = ANY SITE ABOVE MINE

But be honest with yourself, and you will recognize true spam.

    If that was a legit form it would be any easy way for a backlink provider to obliterate competition that sells links. Buy a gig, rank a page, report the source.

    I wouldn't do this, I don't care enough, just saying it would be very easy to bring down a public link network If that form was legit.

        I think Yukon meant "yes it's real", but the form is pretty worthless and likely a big waste of time.

    On another note, I think this shows that google still isn't sure how to stop spam.

      I swear Google is just any other big company with employees that have to have something to do, invent all these changes in their algo, announce their big update, see that the results are garbage, and revert.

      In our niche there it's all coming back to normal. The launched Penguin 2.0 and they have been reverting ever since. All the same sites ranking now, because they were always real.

      Exactly, they are mainly auto spam and you can prevent them as well if you do it technically!

    That form is a true showing of their hand, they always rave on about how sophisticated their algo is and have teams of engineers coding up spam filters yet they still need manual input from the same people they're aiming their gun at, what a joke, nobody should fill that form in, don't kid yourself about bringing down your competitors......google's algo ain't nowhere near as ninja as they make us believe.....
