Hi everyone,

I am sure you know that .edu links can be a very valuable asset to your link profile and I just wanted to share one here on the forum that I make use of, maybe you could share any of yours that you use here too?

EDU links are good for countering lots of links. Having EDU and GOV links tells Google your website is listed on these valuable high authority websites that can only be acquired if you are a organization with an accredited post-secondary educational institution. The link juice is not the value, just having them on there makes your website appear more "Legit"

Also, that link you posted is NOT an .EDU, also, if you did post it in here, how valuable would it be after everyone sees it and uses it?

That's all true except that you are completely wrong.

Links do not provide any extra value just because they come from a .EDU or .GOV domain. You've been reading some nonsense somewhere.

The misconception, as Mike states, is .edu's, .ac.uk's and .gov's have naturally built a pretty solid reputation of being high-quality. Gaining a link from hardvard.edu would be the same as CNN.com, if they were both equal.

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!
