MOZ vs Majestic SEO vs Ahrefs

Has anyone every noticed how Ahrefs discovered up to 3-4 times as many backlinks as either Moz Opensite Explorer or Majestic SEO?

Hopefully Moz improves their crawler while they are working on improving and developing their other products.

Anyone else have any experiences with these 3 tools where the counts were even close?

Yeah, Ahrefs kills Majestic and OSE most of the time. Rarely do I find a domain where Ahrefs isn't finding almost twice as many links as Majestic. OSE is so bad, I don't even check that anymore.

Never use Open site anymore. almost entirely ahrefs

api key access combined with inspyders backlink monitor for a very affordable solution

Whole lot more results and also allowed me to recently kick spyglass to the door (resource heavy regardless of settings)

Am I missing something on this? I tried the trial of Inspyders Backlink Monitor. The trial only lets you investigate 50 links, but I wanted to give it a test. Every time I ran it, I found it took about 90 seconds to gather data on 50 links. So if I was looking at 1000 links, that would take about 30 minutes. That makes SpyGlass look like a Porsche.

I don't know that you can extrapolate the time any piece of software operates quite like that though. Plus did you use proxies and change the default settings? to save your connection when checking PR there is a default 3-5 second pause which of course can be removed when you use proxies.

Spyglass was my default for a long time but it was always a clunker and most likely will forever be unless they get really really better running it on java. Backlink monitor runs fast (i never timed it but I will do so next run I do) , doesn't hog my system resources (and Spyglass does even with the best settings) and I have never ever had it hang on me. PLus

        Two installations per purchase
can run multiple copies at a time
the ahrefs integration makes it far better finding more links as you know
really affordable because the api works out to be about a penny or two per domain inquiry
You can look through links while it works (but with spyglass you can do nothing until its done)

I did a video for my guys in my class but am redoing it (left my Api key in the shots thinking I could blank them out but couldn't with the recorder I used). redone one will be up weekend early next week. Have not used Seo spyglass for over a month. Do not miss it at all (well okay maybe the scheduler is more robust). Frankly never liked Link assistant's sneaky way of putting in monthly fees and locking you into their much more expensive captchas. Not a deal breaker price wise but just the principle of not being more upfront.

P.S. Matthew woodward had a discount which brought the price down to like $70 I think plus further discounts for buying multiple inspyder products and You will have to buy an Api key from ahrefs

ahref is nowadays best service. No doubt. Im not sure how they are doing this but they might manage large Data Center than MSEO and OSE. OSE is completely a joke for last 6 months though.

Havn't had much experience with Ahref but MajesticSEO is definitely better than OSE. Having said that, Ahref & MajesticSEO are dedicated backlink analysis tools whereas OSE is part of MozTools which is a full-fledged SEO toolset.
