Targeting High Traffic, but its not producing results

Hello Warriors,
I have a website I am working on at the moment and the client is targeting keywords that are relatively high. But they are not targeted to a specific region or country. Question is there is traffic but its not delivering results. Google Analytics tells me there is visitors to the site but the bounce rate is around 80%
So would it be better targeting more niche keywords that have less traffic and would be likely to convert more?
