I want to learn PPC next.

Hi.

PPC is something I haven't really dabbled with too much. I think it is a weak spot in my IM skills. I've been putting it off over the years because there's always the danger that it could be a very expensive learning curve, however I don't think I really want to put it off any more. Being able to efficiently tap into a reliable traffic source is just too important for me to ignore anymore.

I want to start by learning Google Adwords. Can someone recommend the best products, WSO, resources for learning PPC with Google Adwords?

Does anyone have any tips or pointers for me?

    You don't need a course or WSO to use PPC. There is a ton of 'self learning' info in Adwords and a LOT of targeting options.

    Start with a really small campaign with a small daily limit until you get the hang of it.

    yeah man, google is probably the best in terms of ppc. They have a million and one tools within adwords, where you can track keywords, group your campaigns by category, group by keywords, and create 3 campaigns for each ad.

    You should be prepared to spend some good coin up front, just for testing purposes, see what is converting, and then scale from there.

    Use Prosper for tracking and google analytics for research.

    Then of course, yahoo, bing and 7search.

    You don't have to pay anything, Google has an Adwords Learning Center and it's totally free. If you're serious about it, you can apply to become a Google Engage Agency and eventually get certified. When you sign up for Engage, they even give you a bunch of $100 vouchers to help you get new clients. They want you you to peddle their service, so they make it easy for you.

    Google Adwords will be tough when you begin. I'd recommend starting on Yahoo! Bing network or even Facebook.

      Agree with JR, certainly easier search engines than google.Bingads, facebook,youtube, 7search. to name a few
      There are lots of them and much easier to use when it comes to creating your ads and cost per click will be a lots less than GA.
      yes google certainly is the biggest, learn where it costs you less first.
      Just my humble opinion.

    Start with Bing Ads. They have much more cheaper clicks & the quality is equal or maybe even better than Adwords.

    Thanks for all the advice and pointers. I will looking into them all.

    I signed up with Bing AdCenter just to get a feel with the cheaper clicks, but there seems to be a bug in their software not recognising my credit card (says i haven't attached one to the account even tho I have). I'll give it a few days and see if it fixes itself.

    For learning PPC practically, you must be spending money into it. The thing is spend money with one product, if you get success then go ahead with it..


    So the thing is you have to test first, what works and what doesn't work.
