Anyone that now a thing or two about domain and page authority?

I learned that Moz has DomainAuthority as a kind of imitation of how Google would rank a specific domain. I also learned that Majesticseo use their own ranking called TrustRank.

When buying domains - what should we really look for when determine the authority and Google rank potential?

Two companies who aren't Google can't determine the 'Google value' of any website. We don't know exactly what Google considers important, but it's safe to say that high PR pages on well trafficked websites are authoritative.

So when you look through the backlinks look for links from websites that you really don't normally get links from. This could include news sites or other obvious authorities.
