How/where do you buy links? How much they cost? How does this work, are they in your niche or how do they do their links?

Yes in your niche. Either a guest post or site wide blogroll link usually. Price depends on PR mostly. PM me your niche

Buying a link is easy but buying the right link is abit harder. You need to know what metrics to look for to "qualify" for a good link. I have my own rules and numbers to decide what is good or crap. You need to figure out what you want from a link before you can apply your metrics.

    Eg my rules are:

    1. Must be relevant
    2. Must be a real niche site and NOT a site built for selling links
    3. Has x number of referring domains
    4. 2 year old domain and indexed
    etc

the prices can range quite a bit its usually based on a period of time 1 month up to a year... The price will range as well and the factors are PR, traffic & domain age. Your also subject to approval some webmasters only want related links advertise on their pages. Generally prices start around $5 up to $50 per month depending on the factors I mentioned.

One of my "tricks" is finding OLD ancient websites and seeing if you can get a link. Those are gold! The amount of years indexed in Google and the trust built up...

The only time I ever bought any kind of backlink was when I purchased a link place in a web directory to be placed in a featured section. I have seen many offering services of back link building for great prices but the problem with that is ensuring that what you are paying for it what you get. Paying for backlinks and then seeing them disappear one by one is not good.

This is all relative to your SEO plan and what links you are trying to buy. Some links are dirt cheap, and others are extremely expensive. You can pay for almost any type of link. Sometimes you will have to directly contact the owner of a site where you want your link placed, while other times you can hire someone to build links for you on different platforms.

Yes. The price is relative to a lot of site factors, such as PR, site popularity, domain authority, etc.

There is not a magic number you pay for all links. Not all links are created equal: not even close.

I'd love to help, but I am not exactly sure what you are asking for.

I can't give examples without knowing what you are trying to do.

What is one link worth? I have no clue. You guys talking $5? $5 a month? $50? $50 a month? In a very small niche, can a few good links improve SERP?

This is relative to what kind of link it is.

The question you are asking is like "How much does a car cost?"

Some links are worth less than a penny, others are worth hundreds, or even thousands of dollars.

Okay, now we're getting somewhere. So, a link can possibly cost thousands of dollars? Can you explain to me how one link is worth that? (A serious question.)

Sure. I'll use an extreme example to convey the point. Imagine if you could get a link on the homepage of Google (obviously, this would be worth more than a few thousand dollars). The power of that link would outweigh the costs.

Now, apply that concept to smaller authority sites, and you should be able to understand.

Every link has a different value, and that value is most often determined by the power that the link holds (sometimes referred to as "link juice"). The more powerful the link, the more expensive it will be (mostly).

How could one possibly determine the value of a link? I know a few authority sites in my very narrow niche but they will not link to a site like mine, which is for profit. They are for profit, too, but they don't sell anything. Other than content. But if I threw $100 donation at them for a link, I wonder if that would get them? $500? I don't know how to tell if it would be worth it. How many links from a "trusted authority" (think high traffic forum) does a site (mine) in a very narrow niche need to boost SERP? I'm interested in this concept, just don't see how you could do anything other than just guess.

Simply put, experience helps you determine the value of the link. If it was easy, everyone would do it. At the end of the day, it is an educated guess.

You need more than just a few links from a high authority site. You need a healthy backlink profile.

I suggest doing a lot of reading on SEO. I can't explain these concepts in a few minutes. There are a LOT of factors that go into SEO, and it will take time to understand them all.

Last question... "You need more than just a few..."

How many makes for healthy? In a very narrow niche, would a handful of links from trusted authority sites help SERP? Say I found 5 trust sites who'd give a link for a $100 donation to each. Could that help SERP? 10 sites? What is a reasonable number, any idea?

Once again, this is relative to the site and competition. Some sites can rank with a few backlinks, and some need thousands. Also, as mentioned before, not all backlinks are created equal. Do some research and then some testing.

I think that a good starting point for you would be to analyze your competitor's strategy using a tool like ahrefs.com

See how many links they are building, what kind of links they are building, etc

I've only seen a few links be purchased (have not purchased any myself). The ones I saw were: 1 PR 5 for $100, 5 PR3 for $55 each (made a deal with the owner of a blog network, so got a discount). All of these were guest posts, with the link in an author bio and to be posted on their own page, for at least a year. Perhaps that will give you an idea. (Also, these were all in the insurance niche).

Well, I don't buy links at all. Instead I use free methods of link building.

The thing is you have to do slow link building at regular basis, the links should be natural and relevant..

Other than simply buying side links in any blogs or websites, you should write some good blogpost and place them on niche related blogs.
