Google News helps with SEO?

I just got a site that I have been working on rejected by Google News (shocked) as it is high quality and I even put money into it. They encouraged me to try again and I will (even though they won't specifically tell me what to do to improve my site )

My question is: Is it even worth it to try into Google News to help with your rankings?

From what i've heard yes and no.

Yes, because some of your stories/news can instantly get you to top of google searches for some high searched keywords.

No being that you can to constantly keep adding new content daily and trying to keep up to certain guidelines.

I'm not an expert on google news, i'm sure others have a much better insight then i have, and can give you a much better explanation.

    Regards,

    Lee

I think it makes sense to get into Google News for authority reasons above all (and then the chances to get natural backlinks will increase significantly). If you feel that your site has the potential for being on Google News and you are ready to comply with the requirements, then applying for reconsideration makes sense. On the one hand, you will be getting a lot more traffic from Google, and on the other hand, with more traffic come more social links, bookmarks and all these contribute to your online authority and reputation. And improved authority and more backlinks will definitely result in better search engine rakings.

I think the most important aspect of getting into G News, is as they state, they want sites which contribute unique content. If you're just rewriting the daily news, then what do you contribute to Google News?

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

Do you think that you get the G news account once activated, and then you can pour in your stories and links?? Don't join it with the aim to get links or get your brand into it. You are soon going to kicked away...
