Yep I pretty much do the same thing if the quality is good , I'll even leave the link if it's a related niche and it was a genuine comment.

If I don't have anything in front of me to do/taking a break from my work I go ahead and turn it into a thoughtful and valuable comment if it isn't one already. So at the very least thanks for the unique IP visit spammers!

Or maybe the same post are on thousands of other pages across the Internet. Maybe the content just devalues your page.

No, the ones I'm referring to are ones that directly, and thoughtfully, address what's being said in the article they're commenting on.

You are aware of technologies where they scrape and perhaps spin a part of what you wrote and place a few sentences around that right?

It's a very common technique that is used by many Xrumer spammers. Looks legit at first glance but in fact just pure spam. You can easy find out by putting the non relevant part in quotes and do a search in Google. I bet you'll be surprised.

There is always askimet if you are fed up of the spam. Works pretty well with other spam preventative measures as well
