Duplicate Content - Plugins

Does anyone know if there is any plugin that will help with duplicate content? For example, all of my articles on my Wordpress are unique but the problem is that when I categorize posts in two or more categories, there are two copies of the post in the search engines. This probably doesn't look good to Google.

Also, tags will do this too and I'll have two of the same article links pointing back to one article in the search engines. I am wondering if there is a plugin that will fix this issue or something I can do?

I want to use Adsense on my site later but I don't want to risk having this issue so I need to fix it beforehand.

I would pick a single category.

How about if you no-index categories since they are mostly dup content already?

While you're at it do the same with your tag and author pages.

Unless you are running a personal blog, make the homepage a static page because all of that is dup...

    Nobody reads my forum, lol.

I wouldn't be doing a noindex on a category page, that's the mother of all pages (for each category).

Use a canonical tag If needed, but not a noindex.

    Depends on the cms.

For instance with magneto it would be suicide to no index it.

If you don't think it's a good idea to no index it on a wordpress site, that's a difference of opinion. I see it as a duplicate content hub.

But your right, it is a major page through which pagerank flows. That's why I NEVER advise no following it, and a lot of people confuse no index and no follow but that's for another thread.

Why do you keep it indexed since it's nearly all duplicate content? Do you just find they pull too much traffic?

EDIT: I could see why on larger domains the more I thought about it. Still wouldn't personally, but I can logically walk through why on larger domains.

It is better post one unique article in one category... if you are using tags then make sure that you are not repeating the same words, phrases again and again..

You can post them in as many categories as you want, still their permanent links aren't going to change. So for Google it is one fresh and unique content. Hope this helps...

Thanks. I'll go ahead and look into this. I'm using Wordpress currently.
