Do I need private proxies?

I've got 3 youtube videos and 3 websites that I want to do some social bookmarking to using SB Bomber.

I'm on a serious shoestring budget. Should I invest in private proxies or just use public proxies?

Thanks for any insight.

I use a company called Proxy Hub, I have found them to be very good and affordable, I think there under $10 for 10 proxies.

Every month you get sent new proxies also.

I used them in conjunction with SB.

So I'm guessing based on the responses that everyone thinks I should spend the money on private proxies?

If you are worried about cost, why do you feel the need for private proxies over shared? I pay for private proxies, but I need reliable ones because I use them as part of a service. If you just need them for yourself, I'd probably go with shared.

I don't. That's why I asked the question. Is shared the same as public?

I am not 100% sure, but my take on proxies are:

          1) Private - means you should be the only one that has access to use that IP. Others on the subnet can still effect your ability to use it if they are abusing it and scraping the same content, for example google. You should get the best performance with these and no risk of it being hijacked.
          2) Shared - This implies paying for usage, but multiple people have access to the same IP. Performance should be good, but if you are doing something common like scraping google, you will probably get blocked since others are probably doing the same. You shouldn't have to worry about hacked or hijacked proxies.
          3) Public - This is the worst. Normally free and probably only up for a limited time and frequently hijacked so the results can be spam, porn, malware. Also performance will be poor since 100's or more user will be trying to use them and they can go down at anytime.

I opt for #1 because I need something reliable, although it does cost more. If I was scraping just for myself or just wanted a handful of IPs to be anonymous I would look into #2. Then again the cost for #1 isn't much if you just need a handful, so I'd probably still go with #1 so I wouldn't have to keep switching proxies every few days or week or so if what I am doing has a tendency to be blocked.
