Adwords how to get more impressions?

OK, I have a niche, set up separate campaigns for each keyword-group, and separate adverts for each keyword too.

The real problem is that I can't get enough impressions.

The most desirable keywords are very expensive. I need to be under $0.35 per click to break even, but the best keywords are bidding at $1-$5 sometime more.

So I searched and experimented with less attractive keywords. I've used MicroNicheFinder to help with this process. These less attractive keywords are cheaper, the quality of the click will be lower, but the number of searches per month is too low to generate enough impressions!

How to find less expensive keywords that have enough search volume, so that there will be enough impressions?

Thanks for your advice, I'm stuck!

    Hi Fred,

In my experience I have found that each keyword tends to have it's own unique break even point. One keyword may be profitable at $2.00 per click while others are not profitable even at $0.05. I believe you need to look at each keyword separately.

Most of the longer keyword phrases will convert better and have a lower CPC, but much fewer impressions. You can make up for the fewer impressions by finding more keywords. Think in terms of hundreds or even thousands of keywords. if they each average a few impressions a day, collectively this could amount to tens of thousands of impressions.

You might also consider the Content Network to get a large number of impressions.

to show up more in Google , you have to increase the number of keywords that you bid(how much you bid also determines whether you will show up more or not). But in Google, just showing up will not get clicks for you. Your ad text should be got to make the visitors click on your ad. If you get all the things right, you can think about getting 0.04 for each search click.(Real estate is a tough market).

  • Improving your impressions is not exactly what you want..... you want more profits, right?

Many times, the more expensive keywords with better volume can make you more money compared to a long list of long tail keywords. Also less number of keywords are easier to manage.

Improve your ad copy to get higher CTR, then improve your conversions on your landing page. It should be squeeze page or sales page. Use Google website optimizer to improve your landing page conversion.

    Hope this helps.....
