Moving content from one domain to another...

Here's the situation:

Let's assume that I offer widgets...

I own a website, say, BestWidgetsOnline.com. For the past few years this has been my corporate site for my offline business.

Now that I diversity to a number of sub-niches, I cannot put everything into BestWidgetsOnline.com as it will be too cluttered.

So, I want to move a portion of my content from BestWidgetsOnline.com to another new domain name, say, WidgetService.com. That domain name is new, focusing on that sub-niche.

My question is if I move the content "wholesale" from BestWidgetsOnline.com to WidgetService.com and SEO WidgetService.com, will Google see it as duplicate content?

In short, I just want to "split-up" the main website business to multiple sub-businesses, each having their own domain names. The main website will still own the corporate information with links to the other sub-niches.

If so, how will you guys do to safely move the content from one domain name to another?

Yes,you have two options to deal with this problem you came across.
    No.1
In your former website, you can add the noindex meta tag on the page of the original content that you plan to move into another new website. Thus the former content will not be indexed by google while it will be indexed in your new website.

    No.2
You can inform google through google webmaster tool that you expect the former page, on which the content will be moved into the new website , will not be indexed by google. In google webmaster tool, such a function will work well.

    No.3
You can rewrite your former content with the Best spinner tool very fast and then move the content that you rewrite into the the new website. In this case, the former website is unnecessary to correct while you just integrate the new form of the content into the new website.

Above three methods, you can choose one of them as to the problem you mentioned.Have a nice day.Do hope my suggestion will help you.

I think Kamusta is trying to point you in the direction of: WMT/optimisation/remove url's

or you could just use robots.txt to block google from indexing the old content page which would be a requirement of removing the page url via wmt anyway.

For the main website, I'll be changing it from static HTML to Wordpress. So if I send the remove URL request at Google, it will no longer index my main site URLs? It would be like a "restart" for my main domain name right?

I intend to "port" over these content from my main site to my other site, the content remains the same. I don't have to do anything on the new domain name right?
