Best SEO Strategies Post Panda & Penguin

I've just created a new wordpress site http://StLuciaByKirk.com that I hope to attract visitors who plan to vacation in the Caribbean island of St Lucia.

I have installed WordPress SEO by Joost de Valk and paid attention to my on-page SEO.

I now wish to turn my attention to off-page SEO and would be grateful for some post Panda & Penguin off-page SEO Best Practices Guidance.

I have been looking at SEOBook & SEO Moz and now wish to create a SEO strategy that I can follow on like a weekly basis

    You said you just created your site -- so I would recommend not doing SEO (other than on page stuff) for a month at least.

    What I mean is don't start linkbuilding, as your domain is brand new, and it will be obvious that its not organic.

    Honestly your best bet is to look up the best (maybe top 10) SEO blogs and just start reading them and understanding the concepts.

    Then in about a month or so start practicing the concepts by putting them into practice.

    Rinse and repeat.

      This is not accurate. If it were, every page/story that goes viral would be penalized for inorganic links.

      If I were to post some ridiculous/disrespectful pic of Bush or Obama and post it to reddit, it would almost certainly begin collecting links immediately. Do you think Google would categorize those links as "inorganic'?

      That said, I'm not a big fan of building my own links. I'm more into focusing on content and collecting organic links.

    "Post Penguin and Panda" is a false state because the update has never completely rolled out yet. No one knows what factors matter until now. However, people will be happy to give you advice based on what they 'think' works. Keep focusing on on-page, especially for a new site is my advice.

    Hi Guys,

    Many Thanks for all of your insights. I've been reading so much over the last 72 hrs. Initially it all seemed kinda like gobbly gook and then suddenly it's like something clicked and it's all falling into place now.

    All this has me really pumped as this SEO stuff is lining up with my initial objective when I decided to build this new site and that is to create an amazing site that presents my Caribbean Island in a way that's totally unique because of my photography and my writing style and from that the monetization will eventually come
