Add to product page or build a new post?

I have a large authority business site that promotes an offline business service. On it I have several key product pages targeting a key term.
Should I add additional relevant content to these pages or build new posts around the subject and link these to the product page.
Should I focus all my efforts on one long relevant page or build lots of relevant key word optimised posts instead?
Any thoughts on what works best?
