    You can have your blog on the first page of Google in one day if your using Adwords. (It will show up in the sponsored link section at the top and right side) You can usually get a $100 free Ad credit from different places online such as host gator or Godaddy if you have accounts there.

    As far as getting your blog on page one of google naturally that will all depend on your blogs SEO and the keywords you are targeting.

    Actually, it depends on the competition, it would take time in indexing too, thats why it takes time and no one can tell exact time as well.

      Michael says right, PPC is the only option to get to the first page of Google in no time.

      Talking about organic rankings, it depends upon lot of factors,
      1) Keyword competition
      2) Site Status
      3) On page factors
      4) off page factors
      5) Social factors
      etc etc

        I agree PPC is the fastest way to get traffic. It will also tell you what keywords are profitable so that you will know what to focus on w/ your SEO efforts. Most people put the cart before the horse and focus on SEO w/o even knowing if they have the right keywords or if their page will convert. PPC will help you get that straightened out immediately before you waste any more time.

          Adwords is not foolproof for #1. You might not have a high enough
          QS to even get on page 1.

          Here's the quickest way to make #1 on page 1.

          1) Search for site, choose keywords wisely.
          2) Note site in #1 spot.
          3) Make offer to buy site in #1 spot.
          4) Complete the sale.
          5) Enjoy your new found status.

          Scenario #2.

          1) Buy some nonsense domain, like bluefartwidgetsforlefties.com,
          but the choices are endless.
          2) Make the index page title the same phrase as your domain.
          3) Ditto #2 with H1.
          4) Put the link in a sig here.
          5) Probably #1 for blue fart widgets for lefties in less than one hour.
