I am working on a website at the moment and its targeting high kewords but they are not converting into results. Could it be the wrong keywords or the website in general?

Could be a million reasons. If the terms you are targeting are not terms typically associated with a person who is ready to purchase something (assuming you are selling something), those would be poor terms.

OK, then you are targeting buyers (of services). You need to take a look at the keyword that are driving the majority of your traffic. If they are, in fact, "buying" keywords, then you have to consider the fact that your content is poorly-converting or your prices are out of line. Your website aesthetics could be an issue as well.

What I experienced that those keywords which have words like:

    reviews
    prices
    buy

    keyword in plural (abc cameras)

    are more beneficial!

The terms are getting traffic, but they are not converting into sales. Average time on the homepage is around 1 minute but the bounce rate is 80%

Statcounter or Google Analytics should tell you what keywords people are finding your site with.

either your traffic source is not fit for your sales funnel, or your sales funnel is not set properly...

so you need to work on those 2 things

i think its kind of been nailed, but you maybe want to rethink about which keywords you are targetting, as certain keywords maybe have relevance to your niche, but not neccessarily what buyers would "use" when trying to find your service.

the only other option is to look at the service you are offering, and re-evaluate it, and see if there is anyway of improving what you are offering.

google analytics should be a good help to you,
    hopefully this had some relevance

    good luck

There are a LOT of such keywords:

weight loss tips, weight loss hints, easy weight loss are GOOD keywords, but they do NOT convert!

While how to lose weight fast, quick weight loss, etc. are NOT so good (because they have high competition), but convert really good!

IMO, the top of that web page is too confusing & doesn't look like your trying to sell any services.

Swap out the slider with a pricing table that list your services.
