Getting Backlinks from PR6+ Pages

I heard from some of my internet friends that we can get backlinks from high PR NGO sites, by donating some funds to them. Someone even shared these strings which helps you to find these kinds of sites:

"donate" + "add your link"

"donate" + "links below"

"contributors list" + "make a donation"

But I am not able to find any sites that provide a link for the contributors profile or website.

It's a win win situation for both the donor and the receiver.

Do you guys have any such sites where we can donate and get ourselves listed in the contributor section?

That's link building advice from 2005. Probably all those pages have been penalized by now.

So you mean to say that doesn't work out anymore in this P&P ERA?

Personally I would be careful of this tactic. These pages used to be quite common - meaning they were used quite a bit. A high PR non-related link with do-follow likely looks 'paid' by Google's standards.

Yes, this was used few years before but this technique is not useful now, you won't find any site, or they may be penalized due to spam.

I found few sites by doing some hanky panky research, but most of them have removed the links from the page and only the text remains (checked using archive.org). Anyways, never thought to include this strategy in my plan, but just gave it a shot. :-p

Randy, it used to work great. You could find a PR4 for a $10 donation

As you can imagine, the whole thing became overrun...until the Hammer came down.

Obviously the $10 registration fee has been relaxed. I can't believe HOW MANY threads are being created in a day now.

Oh yeah, blog comment spam all the way

LOL, and she calls herself a "SEO strategist".

But back to the topic. Those links can give you a pretty nice boost. I have 4-5 links from donation pages and I can say that they still work. And google will not penalize you because of those links if you have a bunch of quality links from relevant sources. Google might devalue them, but never penalize for that.

Google says "NO" to donations? I don't think so.

It's not SPAM if you do it manually. This is a technique that I use successfully. You only need 2 or 3 well written comments on high PR sites.

There are different opinions on this, but if I had a company and I hire a "SEO strategist" then I don't want him/her to say that I have to build blog comments to my site. Or better yet, web2.0s.

It's a free tip that you can use successfully if you don't SPAM. If you did hire a SEO agency then they will most likely just buy links and save all the hassle.

Again, Web 2.0s are powerful if used correctly.

Anyway many blog owners have made a "no-follow" rule for blog comment links, so I don't think this will help in terms of SEO, may be we can expect some referral traffic if the blog is a reputed one.

I'm sure this will not work these days... Also, you have to be sure when you get a SITEWIDE link... especially on BIG blogs... This could cause a lot of problems for your website!
