I have a football blog tailored around the NFL. I want more visitors before I put affiliate banners on my site. If I set up an ppc campaign to get targeted visitors to my site would that be a good strategy to get readers.

    Yes, PPC Ads are one of the best sources for highly targeted traffic. Sounds like your site is fairly new, so getting right into PPC is a good idea to jump start your traffic. Just make sure you have something, maybe some sort of feature or new content, that keeps your visitors coming back.

    it is a good strategy but you'd better focus on your content and regular updates

    Social Media would probably be a better strategy to find fans and followers.

    PPC can burn through money fast.. especially if you aren't monetizing your site.

    If you aren't building an email list of followers who want updates, you're leaving a lot of money on the table.

    If I were you, I'd look into creating a FB Fan Page, monetizing it with a freebie offer and sending some paid FB traffic to it.. it's a great approach for a niche like fussball.

    Oh, I know you didn't say fussball.
