How can they do this? (SEO Loop Hole?)

Hey guys!

Quite interested with how these blogs are pulling it off:
wsoclub.com
(This isn't the only one, you'll easily find numerous similar sites within the first page for any WSO product names)

If you check out the blog post, it's simply a Title and a affiliate link yet they are still ranking generally 1st page for all these product names.

This seems to pose two supposed issues (which they don't seem to be facing):
- HTML to Text Ratio: Having a good amount of text so your page doesn't look spammy
- Duplicate content: As all they're having is a direct product title followed by a link; would this not seem like duplicate content? I understand curation but this isn't even having any content.

Do you think it's a loophole or are they pumping some serious link juice to their post (which even so, I think everyone knows the onsite basic essentials needed for any offsite promotion)

what do you think?

I also understand that these are low competition terms but occasionally they are even outranking the original thread.

Even if it's low competition terms, it's quite unusual that they are ranking (or even indexing) with SIMPLY a link and a direct title copy.

    See whats happened here is,
Despite them, more or less, just rss-ing directly into their site. And then tweaking it up a little. Doesn't really matter.
What has happened. Is they have kept doing it, over a very long period. So by default, they are probably considered an authority site. Within the WSO spectrum of keywords. They probably don't build any links. They just consistently, have been churning away with a auto content mill of syndicated content.

This would align with Google's statement that they want to 'help push up' sites that are authoritative for a given set of terms.

LOL, not exactly what they intended.

        I guess google considers
        ...
        as authoritative content

Well, no one really knows what they intended. They don't release what their real intentions are ever.
We just guess at, what they might be going to do.
And then wade through the aftermath, of each rolled out update.
        So whatever their intention was.
This type of situation, seems to be one of the results.

I think its just lots of quality(high PR) links pointing to the site. With high quality links, anything is possible.

What's the big deal about those wsoclub.com pages, it's no different than ranking photo gallery or video type pages. I see plenty of text on those pages (example).

Contrary to popular belief on this forum, articles aren't necessary to rank a page.
