No need to see the url.

For your site I would probably maybe add an email form (pop-up) to try to build a list that you can send related deals to.

Pretty hard to monetize I think any way else for a site like that.

You could try selling banner space, but the traffic numbers are too low I think.

If I had 6k visitors to a local site, I would sell ad spots. I have several local exact search sites and I sell ad spots from $12/mo to $199/mo. I have a door to door salesman, but within 30 days I built a solid income with one of the sites. I made a few sales items.. IE flyers, business cards, free ad accounts and went to work.

Instead of Adsense try "Yahoo Bing" ads (contextualads.yahoo.net), they pay for impressions which is pretty good. 6k is a good amount of visits and if you calculate the amount of impressions that it brings, you could make a lot of money. I have a site which has just 3k traffic and I'm making some decent money out of it through this medium.

Seems like a difficult niche to monetize. At first I would try putting some related CPA offers on there (Only if there are any decent ones). If that doesn't work simply sell the adspace. You won't make a huge amount but enough to cover the costs and put a little extra in your pocket.

I think earnings depends on niche and number of clicks you received, still you have 6k visitors so earning is very low compare to visitors check your ad placement and quality of the articles.

That's a tough site to monetize.

I'd contact local movie theaters or movie sites and rent out banner ads. Based on your Adsense RPM, you won't be able to get much from it.

You may also want to enter a different niche where the traffic is at least somewhat targeted/monetizable. As you've seen, search volume isn't everything.

thanks for the suggestions so far. will have a look. there are no articles on the site and i would not even know what to write about besides write movie reviews, and i probably will never see these movies. i also thought about asking for theater reviews to retain readers for longer than 15 seconds.

Make a section on your site with the dvd/blueray for the movies that have been shown in the theaters, and then link to a place where they sell movies, Amazon or something.

Also try to make people signup, you can give out 2 movie tickets every month if they are on to make them subcribe.

If people are looking for specific information and may be want to find somewhere to go that evening they are not looking to hang around on a website for a long time, they want to find the information and then disappear. In my opinion, Google AdSense comes into its own, articles that hold good quality content, pages that people are going to read from top to bottom, rather than just looking through looking for just one piece of information. It may be a case that one of your adverts might relate to what they're looking for, however I suspect that the Google ads will not follow the subject of your website exactly which is why people are not clicking on them.

    hi dragsternj,

I think you have a great opportunity here and a really excellent niche.

You should add a "Best Movies Shop" section to your website, where you can list amazon movies, or others and categorize them. This sounds like a lot of work but you can easily manage it with a Wordpress plugin (if you have it installed using wpzonbuilder - I'm not affiliated).
Content site with an Amazon Affiliate Store as a Category or Sub Directory | WP Zon Builder

Notice that the owner of the website runs game reviews, which is a very hard niche to monetize as well, similar to movies. By adding a Page/section of your website with the top movies using your affiliate links to amazon, ebay, or other networks, you can help your viewership better understand your movie tastes and earn more income.

If you have to do this manually you can pick the top 5 classics or movies you feel will convert for each section. Add the images/aff links and reviews. Certainly add an email form and a strong call to action such as learn about the newest movie releases, get coupons, etc.

I am assuming this is from AdSense, although the OP didn't say. I think I would add a form to capture email addresses with a free gift appropriate for the niche. Add some niche specific afs to the pages to sell products. Send your list information they would like, and then drop in an offer now and again to sell something.

If all else fails, list it on Flippa and sell it, with that kind of traffic, there is someone who will think they can monetize it better than you, and you can start over with some cash in youjr pocket and pick a niche that is easier to monetize.

I think list building might be a good option. I also think you should look at affiliate programs for movie related products... perhaps even Amazon. You have the benefit of knowing what movies are going to be showing and what ones have alot of hype. Perhaps find t-shirts and movie posters related to the upcoming block buster hits. Or perhaps Netflix/Amazon Prime/Redbox. I am not sure if they have affiliate stuff, but those are all good alternatives to traditional movies.

One thing you could probably work on would be just tweaking your Adsense placements and locations. My understanding is that you should be able to get $6.00/month with 6k visits. Still not awesome, but look into it

Another option, which would be some functionality, but perhaps worthwhile - Give your users the option to recieve emails with showings at specific theaters or within a certain distance of a zip. Blammo... you have a list.

Plan A would be that you Quit .
Plan B would be to remortgage your home and build 10,000 sites just like it.

With that many you would be getting.

      $0.20 x 10,000 = $2000

Then you have made it. Good luck.

My suggestions is, try to sell product related to the movies. Try Iron man for example. Sell t shirts, mugs or anything else. It's better to have products of your own, but try dropship for starter.

You: have 6K visitors a month making 8 cents a day.
    Better than
My: have 1K visitors a day making 10-20 cents a day.

    You should try CPA!

6K per month is not big number of visitors, ads will not generate much income generally, it is routine problem, as most webmasters have.
Try to create email list, cpa rather than ads.

Try Clickbank or any other Affiliate marketing... Don't go with Google. With 6k visitors per month and 1% converting, these are cool 60 sales!!! Believe me, you won't be disappointed if these visitors are really targetted!!!

I do not know how much is your expectation. But you should not expect more than USD 40 to 100 per month. I have two adsense accounts. I earn $700-$800 in one and $50 to $80 in the other (monthly). Here are ways to maximize Google ads

    1. Use the google help tips and setup ads/sizes accordingly
    2. If you have time you can use Google double-click concept and give the advertisers option to target your site
    3. Setup to run another ad (say an affiliate ad) when google do not have an ad to show
    4. Make sure your server is up most of the time and pages load fast

There might be other ideas, I do not know, but these helped me to increase my earning.

    Thanks and good luck.
