Posting Affiliate Links on Web 2.0 Properties

Hey everyone,

I am working on building a link wheel, backlinks and creating blogs on various web 2.0 properties. Some sites say you are not allowed to post affiliate links(for example Zimbio).

So they don't want links going directly to the product site but does anyone know are you still allowed to post a backlink to your affiliate site?

Thank you

There's so many web 2.0 properties and I am spending a lot of time reading through the long and convoluted terms of service pages they have to make sure it is even worth my time to post content on these sites. I am just trying to build a link wheel and put links to my site but not putting links directly to the product sites.

Does anyone have a list of these sites that its OK to build backlinks and a list of ones where I shouldn't even bother going to?

    Thanks

Sorry one more quesrion lol, should I just build the backlinks to my homepage(root domain) or should I try and get backlinks for the other pages on my site too?

      Thanks again!

I would spread the links throughout your site to each page. My understanding is that google evaluates individual pages for rankings not the site as a whole. I would also use the keywords you are trying to rank for in your anchor text of the link

Cool thanks for the reply. I am actually wondering if its worth it to build backlinks on web 2.0 properties, I've heard people say they don't even bother with it anymore.

The authority of an individual page is determined how high rankings are achieved, yes.. HOWEVER, the overall authority of the website equally determines the placement and authority of each new page that is created. As such, it's imperative to create a well-sculpted site that flows PR correctly to each page.

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

They aren't completely worthless. They do provide some juice but not that they will make you rank for high competition keyword.
In short Link Wheels do help!
