Hi,

I'm about to start my boring- backlink journey by Submitting my new websites to

~20 public article directories and * 2 links / per website

~10 keyword related blog comments (Are Nofollow blogs really , really not worth the time to post a constructive comment on?)

~5 * social bookmarks. dig, reddit, tumblr. Who could recommend me their fastest or 'best'' top 5 ?

I will use all different anchors and rotate through every URL i've got on the website. Only thing is i'm doing all this on the very same IP-adress. Any problems?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and f5 some before i start. I might be overlooking something!

best regards!

Hi HashtagSEO , thanks thanks, Thanks for your fast reply!

motivated me a little to get started on this eye-burning task.

My goal is to boost my serps within my countrys google.

All on the same IP - no problem?
Nofollow blogcomments do they actually even benefit, even a little pagerank juice to my domain?
I know they could generate traffic but i'm on the SERP hunt on this one

Any other tips on how are , so much welcome right now ^_^!

On Google, they're worth nothing - They just make your backlink profile look a lot better and generate traffic and brand awareness.

Totally agree on the value of blog comments to give your backlink profile some shape. You can search “your keyword” + “leave a comment” to find blogs allowing comments. Make sure to leave a *valuable* thoughtful comment!

Social bookmarks are meh right now, contextual or related backlinks are 100 times better, I'd look at outreach and guest posting over social bookmark time investment..

Look, your backlink journey is kinda outdated. No hard feelings, but as someone mentioned: It's boring & and not much effective.

5 social bookmarks won't do nothing good... Heck you won't even get some clicks from it since top 5 is most likely overflooded. You better concentrate on finding niche social bookmark sites, such as Dzone for example.

And forget the blog comments and article submissions as well. Instead focus on creating awesome content (infographics, charts, cool design, useful guides/tutorials, interesting facts) and then outreach to the right persons.

    Hope that helps

Is no one going to say anything about Blog Comment backlinks? Are we just going to let this guy (or girl) just make a bunch of Blog Comment backlinks because HashTagSEO said so?!

DON'T DO IT!!! OnlineOnly is right, and those tactics are outdated....like outdated as in your grandpa was using blog comment backlinks LOL, DeadBody has the best piece of advice, look into some contextual backlinks, preferably wiki style, that's what the search engines like, if they look decent they will be immune to the current updates.

I posted what i used to do on my backlink journey within my first post and was up for some super suggestions since ive might just overlook something.

Contextual backlinks is just another term for - backlinks with an anchor text?

I'm going for keyword related blog comments, article submission sites and probably forums.

Who says. '' You gotta do (.... ) to get that extra thick and juicy SERP juice!''

i'm all ears ! You are so much appreciated. by me and probably by a couple hundred others!

    best regards

This is an example of a contextual backlink about cheese:

Cheese is a great dairy product. It can be put on sandwiches, on a pizza, or even on a salad. There are many types of cheeses. Cheese is a food derived from milk, produced in a wide range of flavors, textures, and forms. It consists of proteins and fat from milk, usually the milk of cows, buffalo, goats, or sheep. It is produced by coagulation of the milk protein casein.

The "contextual" comes from your anchor/keyword surrounded by relevant content. That was quite possibly the worst example ever but.... I love cheese.

Yes. A contextual backlink is just a fancy term for a backlink with an anchor text

Your example is how most people place blog comments right .

As a trusted SEO provider. How do you run your quick. Backlink journey / SERP boost mission ?

    I think you're overlooking a good strategy.

All of those are link building strategies from 2010.

If you want to do well in 2013 and beyond you need to step your game up.

It's time these people went a step further and quit 'link building' altogether.

If everyone has 'great content,' and does similar 'link building' then they're going to get the same results.

I want to see some real out of the box thinking on this subject, not just the old 'what's bad and good about link building.'

Someone at a private forum recently observed that a site with 400,000 Facebook likes is outranking much older sites with tons of solid back links.

The likes are achieved from Fiverr No just kidding, the likes are created by using Facebook CPM campaigns.

The person who posted it is going to try to replicate it in the same way, would be very interesting to see the outcome of that although I personally don't really believe in it that much but who knows. The poster said that the huge spike in rankings and thus traffic happened at a certain day this month or last month, not sure, so perhaps Google did made an update that looks at those kind of things, heck maybe they even made a deal with Facebook.

        Time will tell.

I've been experimenting with three new domains since May and I'm confident Google+ and Facebook matter quite a bit to Google these days. Google Authorship is a must and Facebook is close.

Sure, links are still a major factor for Google but there are plenty of examples that the craze is dying off.

It makes sense. How do people actually share content? They link from the major nofollow networks. They rarely make a static web page, make sure it has PR, and the link it to you with the perfect anchor text. That's some old school SEO there, really.

            I 100% agree.

The problems for Google incorporating social into the algo are plentiful and real:

            • No guarenteed access to the data they need (Facebook could block Googlebot one day without warning...then what?)
            • Hard to determine authority and relevancy of the social accounts sharing
            • Social signals are easier to game than links
So I agree that most people share content on social. But it's harder to change the core of the algorithm that's been working really well overnight.

Google's algo doesn't work - at all. It's completely skewed by link spam. Everybody knows 'links are all that matters.' This has been common knowledge for a decade.

Every type of manipulation ever thought of has been attempted. But even more importantly, the way people access information on the Net has changed drastically.

If Google can't keep up with these changes, they won't remain on top for much longer. The fact they've pushed Google+ as hard as they have should illustrate how important they think social signals are.

Heck, Google is a phone company now and 40% of people access the Web via mobile phones. You mean to tell me links from 'static web pages' is somehow natural in 2013?

              Sharing is the new linking

        I wouldn't go that far.

Links are still a HUGE part of the algo: 2013 Search Engine Ranking Factors - Moz

The out of the box thinking is how you APPLY great content and link building to actual sites.
