What do you think of Paypal?

Hi,

We have some problems with Paypal.

They are blocking between 10% to 20% of our orders.

They say that it's either a fraud, or the client submits a claim saying that the purchase has been done without his consent. And they give the client the benefit of the doubt.

Is that a normal average?

What about you?

10%+ is way above average, but it could be that you are selling something that is often used by a group that has a lot of people that do unethical business on the net. Is that possible?

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

      No,

We are selling php scripts at low cost to allow people to start their own website.

So, if it's not that, what can be the reason?

Paypal isn't perfect but then neither is Ebay and that company owns Paypal Joking aside, I've used it for years and most of those have been trouble-free. I don't think chargebacks should be allowed.

As far as I know, Paypal is the best. I used Paypal and yeah sometimes I thought that they cut our money too much.
But as long as they can provide us with their best service, I think it's fine.

I got this from another forum:

I just spoke to a merchant that uses Paypal in his store instead of a credit card reader devise. He was recently notified by Paypal that a new policy is in affect. Instead of the seller getting paid immediately, Paypal will now hold payment until the "Customer" is satisfied with his purchase. The merchant I spoke to was given no time frame fro how long the customer has to to notify Paypal he is satisfied.

I tried to withdraw funds from my Paypal, but I never got the check. It WAS only 20 bucks, but still...

That, and after hearing a lot of horror stories (from sites like PaypalSucks, PaypalWarning, etc) I'd rather stay away

There's a few others, but they're basically the same thing.

    I'd switch to AlertPay...
