about 2 years ago my adsense account got banned - never found out why.

I closed down my google adsense account and removed all ad codes- again this was 2 years ago

If I re apply using my same name and address but a comply 100% adsense safe site will they still block my ass?

Yes they will still block you if you use the same name and address e.g. they will remember they banned you. You will need to either use a different name, such as your middle name, a partners name, and make a 'tweak' to your address.
You also need to bear in mind the old sites will still be banned.
Also note that if you used to get paid by bank transfer then that means a new bank account as well otherwise that will flag up.
Also they track the ban ip's so you will need to re-apply and logon to any new account from a new ip address.
In terms of anti-fraud they have everything covered. Also by re-applying be aware you are breaking the legal terms of the agreement you first signed up to. Lots of people do though.
Also do not buy an account, it will get banned!

Come on man... you know why you were banned. Google doesn't just randomly ban accounts, in 95% of cases they'll even send you a warning first. If you're in that 5% that got no warning, you were doing something severely against their TOS, but even then they always tell you what specifically was violated that lead to the ban. They don't just send out a message saying "You've been banned, see ya!" with no further explanation. They also have an appeal process for the ban, but if there is a clear TOS violation (whether you "knew it" or not) they won't reinstate the account and will reiterate that in their response to the appeal.

The first step you should take is to read the TOS, word for word, and understand what you did that got your account banned because whether they will reinstate your account or allow you to get a new one will depend on what happened. If you were a victim of click fraud, and can reasonably prove it, let them know and they will usually reinstate your account.

But if it was something you did that was a TOS violation, contact them and explain your actions. Occasionally they'll "forgive" a TOS violation depending on the severity, or if it was a new rule they created after your account was originally set up. Sometimes they'll write back and say they can't re-open your account and you'll need to create a new one, which gives you the green light.

Just remember that Google's data doesn't decay - to their system, a violation 10 years ago is no different than a violation yesterday, so they WILL associate your new and old accounts. Even if you use a different name, city, etc. they can still detect it by cookie/ip address if you're still using the Gmail account that was associated with the AdSense account that got banned.

Dont get your hopes up, since they almost never forgive any TOS violations, and like ronrule said, you probably know why you got sacked...

Yes, probably. They see you as a potential threat to their advertisers.

Best bet is to setup an LLC or other business entity with its own tax ID number and try applying that way.

I don't know what the UK equivalent is, but I'm sure there is something similar.

On the other hand, there are a billion other ad possibilities out there you could make money with.

Should be, in the USA I'm pretty sure they force you to give your SSN, in the UK they do not (I think it's a different tax/banking law/IRS issue)
As the others said and my initial comments highlighted you have an uphill issue. Also whilst many people re-apply after a ban the original agreement you signed up to states that if banned you can't re-apply, and so by re-applying you are breaking a legal agreement you signed unto (Whether you read that part of it or not is irrelevant) - Many people who re-apply fail to realise this. Also many people who get banned, go and buy a new account on fiver, then place the new code on banned sites and then wonder why they get banned again in 48 hours. Not rocket science that google tracks the sites even years later.

Get a trusted relative or friend to open an account for you leave everything in their name including the bank account (that's why they have to be trustworthy). Give them a percent of the money just for opening a new account for you. This should work as long as you don't draw the attention of Google again with another infraction.

If he still uses any Google services on the account where AdSense was banned (such as Gmail), and ever signs into the new AdSense from the same computer or IP address that was signed in from that system, they'll catch it and ban the new account too.

If you look over google forum and under adsense section, some people can get their adsense account restored after years, if there is no severe/obvious violation previously. Just post a request and if you are lucky, some "Google Top Contributors" will help you out.

    good luck.

Adsense is a no go area for you except if you want to risk losing your money, resources and time.

The most likely solution is to create a business account if what you had before was personal and go with a new site and address.

What about requesting to remove the ban?

If you have understood where you made mistakes then improve it and request again.

Has anyone got experience of using Yahoo PPC advertising, and if so how effective has it been in generating sales? I am thinking of it as an alternative to AdWords but don't know if it's worthwhile or not.

The number of adsense users in the world is something in the range of 1million
in year 2006, but not so much than that 1million accounts today.

Let's say 1mil accounts and 30 people working at Google adsense department
with the power of analysing 1000 accounts per day manually. This results in
ability to monthly reviewing each user and account that makes it more difficult
    to fool them.

what if we use a proxy and hide the IP? there are services out there where you can hide IP and all your browsing activity. The new account would still need to be separate under new information.
