Web 2.0s - Working, free and dofollow as of 18th July 2013

Warriors,

I'm having an issue understanding the structure of these tiered web 2.0 networks. Is tier 1 directly pointing to the money site but this is the site with only unique content or can it be spun? And the web 2.0 properties would be blogger, wordpress, etc? How would the anchor text be on this?

For tier 2, this would only point to tier 1 or both tier 1 and the money site? Would blog comments, bookmarks, social signals, etc be considered tier 2?

And how would tier 3 play into all this? It would just point to tier 2 links only? What would fall into this category?

Is there any way to automate the building of this entire structure?

I wrote this last year and it is already outdated, but here: Tiered Link Building / Tiered Linking Tutorial

Whether you choose to spin content or not is up to you at your own risk. That's really what we are talking about anyways...

Determine the amount of 'risk' you are willing to accept and then preform the tasks from that point of view in mind.

That way, if in 3 months you're punished - well, you knew exactly what you were getting into to begin with.

If you are absolutely paralyzed by the fear of an update related punishment - might I suggest you pursue other link building ventures

    btyiw,

Great questions asked here as I am an SEO newb and wish to figure out the same thing. Is there a basic, free course on SEO and how to do it? What links to send to Tier 1 and Tier 2, and how much and all that?

The good thing about this business is that "People don't succeed cause they aim too high and miss, no, they aim too low... and hit. Most people don't aim at all." (Les Brown)

Not us... Not marketers. We live far above mediocrity. Always keep this in mind at all times..

It is better to use fresh content instead of using spun content, whether it is for first tier or second... if you use original content your content would index in search engines and you would get some visitors too, it would help in SEO too..

The linking structure must always be like:

      Tier 1>>>> Money Website

      Tier 2>>> Tier 1

Tier 3>>> Tier 2 and so on

Tier 1 is your main source of backlinks, so make sure you add unique content to it, never use spun content on Tier 1.

You can use spun content (atleast 90% unique and readable) on Tier 2 and never link it to your money site directly.

For Tier 1 you can use wordpress, blogger, tumblr, blog.com and some high valued blogging sites.

Tier 2 you can use Article posting, Doc sharing, Press Release etc

Bookmarking, commenting would fall into Tier 3 section, this would point directly to Tier 2 links.

    Hiya all,

Been doing some testing with 2.0 sites this week. There are tons of lists kicking around, but as you will know a lot of these sites have closed recently, and a lot have moved to nofollow.

As of this week, the following sites are working, free and dofollow:

    jigsy.com
    tumblr.com
    wordpress.com
    webs.com
    snappages.com
    weebly.com
    jimdo.com
    bravesites.com
    wix.com
    devhub.com
moonfruit.com (update every 6months to keep it free)
    thoughts.com
    webstarts.com
    edublogs.com

I could do with another 6 or 7, if anyone has any RECENT experience with working dofollow sites?

    Cheers all!

    Jim

I wouldn't worry too much about them being dofollow or nofollow. For one thing, PR is going to end in August 2015 when Stanford University's patent expires on it, and Google won't be the exclusive owner of the technology.
And secondly, with the amount of dofollow sites shrinking the way they do, it doesn't make sense statistically to base too much on a metric noone is using.

So I'd just spend the time posting unique content anywhere I can with a link back to my site, regardless of the link type. The results will surely follow in no time!

Just because the patent ends, doesn't mean Google will stop using it.

How exactly do you think they will determine rankings in the future? Just discard all link monitoring and try to start over from scratch? I wouldn't bet on it.

I would add Yahoo Contributor Network (YCN, contributor.yahoo.com). I'm not sure why I never see it mentioned as a 2.0. Although there have been changes recently, I've used it well before.

I'm a writer there, and have gotten clients' links from voices.yahoo.com, news.yahoo.com, sports.yahoo.com any Yahoo's UK News site. The pay for writing there isn't the best, but when clients are also paying me to write the content it works out.

He doesnt use it is my guess so he thinks nobody should. He comes across as "Just another self proclaimed SEO guru who likes to fearmonger"

But im not an "SEO expert" like him so he'll have a witty remark to throw back i imagine. It works now, so use it. Have control over your tier one, and if it is on "the rape train" you can remove the tiers in roughly 3.5 minutes.

Im also not a fan of using the word "rape" to describe anything other than what it really is. Its not something to joke about tbh.

"Rape" is a word that can be used as you like, without needing to be of any sexual description. Maybe We should stop using words like, "my camp", "final solution" too.
Maybe SeNuke should change its name because, Nukes deep fried all those Japanese people.

Can't answer this question, as by definition the interwebs is one giant Tier of links.
To have "trust" within the Search engine eyes, pages must receive inbound links. The pages with the most trust would be the best place to get links from obviously. And those pages would have alot of whats called "Tiers" in their respective link profiles.

But this is far from what is meant by any of the above posters. They talk about whacking out an Senuke full monty template, on 200 of their "Manually" built 500 word unique article waiting on blogspot.com.

That's not Tiered link building in the "Real World"

That's some kind of sick joke that WSO Groupies have successfully brainwashed a bunch of dream chasing idiots with..

I think there should be some room and understanding that opinions do change over time.

That and not every kind of tiered link building is the same thing.

GSA Users 'Tier' links but they are the crap link -> better link pyramid kind of like what is shown above. Then you have RankWYZ users who also tier links, but they are content -> content and that *might* be different than what is shown above.

Then you have the site model to consider as well.

For instance, someone can be a fan of tiered link building for one type of site but not another. Churn-and-burn vs some other pursuit, like ecommerce or a longer running blog.

I'm not making excuses for the guy, but I do think there should be more room for understanding and flexibility in why one person might hold conflicting opinions. And I speak as one of those people that hold somewhat conflicting views... I don't see 'one right way.'

For instance, if you were going to capitalize on UFC 165 and sell 'online passes' to watch just that one single sporting event - why in gods name would you build links to it like you wanted it to be around forever?

And on the other hand, if you were going to start building a blog about the 2016 Presidential elections (as I already know a few have started), why would you spam-blast it?

There's more to link building than just building the links. There's the purpose and reasoning behind doing it as well.

-=-=- But with all that having been said, his post was pretty demeaning to it which begs a different question entirely. -=-=-

    Meh,

Well spoken Kevin, yes, the idea of backlinks driven solely by churned out 10000s of "crap links" is bad, and hopefully people can learn by what you just said.

I think that the OP didn't necessarily say "I want a software that's gonna post a metric shit ton of crap links", he/she is merely trying to learn and grasp the concept of tiered linking, in which saying one little thing like "Is there a software that can help" gets all blown out of proportion by promoters of spam software like GSA and such. But I am glad you elaborated on that in your last post.

      More poetically,

Using any of these over the counter SEO software to build links to your money site or as Tiers to your existing external links.

Is like going into your/a clients office, and taking a shit on a desk each morning.

Get 20 -30 aged high mozrank domains with freshdrop or services alike, spread them through a number of different hosts, get them for cheap at webhostingtalk

These will be your 1st tier, keep them safe by publishing quality unique content, do NOT interlink them.

2nd tier is everything else that link to the above sites, here you can get away with less quality links focusing on quantity.

And yes, obviously you want your 1st tier websites link to your money site.

      You're paying too much ($5).

Its not like web 2.0s are garbage...but if your going to take the time and effort to build out a website why not just drop a few extra funds and build out a blog network instead? If your worried about link diversity, get the easier links.. blog and forum commenting...social bookmarks...profiles...video descriptions...then drop high pr links on a siloed site. Seo done, build good content on your money site and that's it.

Only if my word was ultra competitive, would i do a proper tiered link building campaign and include web 2.0s. Look up matthew woodard tiered link building if you want to know how to do that properly. Not cheap or quick

These people are clearly dreaming 2.0s have some kind of magic power because they know a guy that found an ebook on some blog. 2.0s are useless for link building when there's nothing creating any authority for the pages. Authority doesn't just happen.

Blasting a bazillion junk links at 2.0 pages is a dumb idea. Junk is junk.

All these 2.0 threads have no idea what they're doing.
