Google asking for too much relevancy?

I noticed that if you want to be in the top of google's pages. one of the biggest factors is, having the latest information regarding your keyword.

So for example, if you we're to search product like samsung galaxy, it would start from the big companies, down to the latest news regarding anything in the lines of samsung galaxy... even worse is when you search lets say samsung galaxy note 3 (Which hasn't come out yet) it's going to find the latest news regarding that.. Google says it wants top quality link searches in it's first page but it seems as those relevancy and when the blog or article is posted is more important.

It's cutting out that the fact that news from last week could be more important to someone who searches galaxy note 3 or samsung galaxy.. then something blogged an hour ago about what type of camera feature it will have..

Just me rambling and thinking...what's your thoughts on this IM'ers?
