Made my website live, now how do I rank?

I am getting about 2k unique visitors daily to my site which I posted 8 days ago, the only thing I have done is put <Meta> tags in my code for SEO purposes, what else do I need to do? Please don't refer me to other areas etc... just tell me in this please!

    You have to see where the traffic comes from.If you see a good numbers from a keyword, that you are not at the top, you can continue optimizing for it so you'll get to the top and start making more traffic.Pm me your site.I will analyze it and try to help you.
