Someone is linking one of my sites on WP from porn sites. It is a Russian website. I think they are trying to de-rank my website.

My comments section is off. But that won't stop it from linking.

Is there anything that can be done to stop this guy?

make a htacess file on root directory of your site and paste following site

        RewriteEngine on
        # Options +FollowSymlinks
        RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} badsite\.com [NC]
        RewriteRule .* - [F]

at the place of badsite write the name of that porn site.

If thier are more then one site use the below one

        RewriteEngine on
        # Options +FollowSymlinks
        RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} badsite\.com [NC,OR]
        RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} anotherbadsite\.com
        RewriteRule .* - [F]

          How this will help him?
This just block access from these links but google will still see these links that hurt his ranking.

I don't think you can do anything to stop them from doing that just go Google Webmaster Tools and use Disavow

How do you know that you are getting backlinks from porn sites? Are they just WP comment attempts even though your comments are not set to display on your page? Or are they trackbacks?

Have you actually seen the backlinks that point to your site from porn sites?

As mentioned by dexture, you need to locate the path of the bad backlinks and use Googles Disavow tool to remove the unwanted links

They are coming as the "Last Referrers" to my site. So I think they are trackbacks. I can't see them on Analytics, as Google hasn't updated it from a long time. I am still waiting to see the outcome of the last time I used the disavow tool. Anyways, its going to take months before Google does anything with the complain.

Is there a faster way to get rid of these?

    ^ Great tip!

Also remember that although it may not seem as though Google has taken action, once you Disavow the links Google recognises that these links were not created by you and the rankings tend to improve.

I think it is downright low! It is "abysmal intellect", and it shows how weak you are in building your own site. So how about de-ranking others website! These guys gain satisfaction about "if I am not doing well, why should I let others do well"!! It seems they haven't matured mentally but know how to do negative SEO!

I don't know why are there so many Russian websites doing this. Most of them don't contain any matter - only hundreds of links. There is no use contacting them because they won't understand English!

I am disavowing them. But do these guys understand that even their reputation will go down when I report it to Google?

They don't have any reputation , and don't care about reputation neither there nor others that's why they are doing this.

Don't worry just make a text file of all links and use the Disavow tool to remove all porn and unwanted links.

This is a very low blow. It also shows your competitor's character and how underhanded they have to be to compete with you. Sorry you had this bad experience. Great responses everyone to help her out!

    ??
Doesn't make sense to me. How you have explained the situation, it looks to me like they are trying to get trackback links from your website. And not pointing links to your website.
Not sure what you comment section has to do with inbound links. I'm confused.

I make some sales from porn site links, Google has never sent me any message about problems with the link, so I don't worry about it. Some of the best links I have are negative reviews of my website by competition, I have made countless sales from them.

All press is good press? Google hates link farms more than porn I think. They have algorithms that scan your website for flesh tones and other such thing to know if your porn or not these days.

I heard that, when your doing edits to your website. They switch on your Webcam and check if your masturbating while editing. That's a big footprint that your running a porn site.

I'm cool with them though. When my Son was born, they implanted an RFID chip and some audio/visual bugging devices inside his head to keep tabs on me.
Not quite sure what your joke was about, it seems horribly off topic, my point was that you should probably not care if they are linking from porn websites. Your Paranoia jokes are unfitting for my comments saying "Don't worry about it."

Maybe reading comprehension issues somewhere I think, or possibly your not in the know about some of the recent Google changes? Normally if someone wanted to be a true expert one might ask "What makes you think that ? " which would give someone a reason to explain to you.

I will explain here in the hope it helps the OP... Google seems to have started banning many Blogger blogs recently based on flesh tones in images on the website, as well as sending out warning to those linking to them.

        A recent example :
        http://www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/e...r-mature-on-it

But there have been several examples of this over the last month. I know of at least eight blogs that have disappeared due to this in the last 30 days.

One might think they could apply this to any images in their index and know a bit more about your website either now or in the future. Also of course there are many words in website text that mark a website as obscene, so in my belief so long as your content seems clean to Google, I don't see why that would hurt you.

I think you must go for Disavow tool, if google disvow taking long time to show actions then try Bing Disavow tool. After all they're also in the game.

You know what's funny? Matt Cutts's blog was a victim of negative SEO. But it was easy for him to get cleaned being the head of this mess. What about others? Nothing much can be done other than what's suggested in the thread. That is assuming that you have links from porn sites. I am not able to understand if bad links are your problem or bad comments or both
