Move Website To New Domain Without Sharing History

Hello warriors!

Here is the thing, I messed up my old domain with spammy links and crappy directories. (did that when I was still a super big noob) Now I found a new domain that is 4 years old and has good history, so I bought it.

Now my question, how do I move my website to new domain without sharing the history? I know 301 redirects is telling google that the website moved, but won't that tell google the sites are the same lets punish the new domain as well?

Won't it be better to de index app of my pages, delete old domain and then put up the website on the new domain and start all over?

    I would suggest starting over

    The effort is worth it - especially if the old site got done by your previous tactics.

    You could use a 302 redirect as that tells the search engines its temporary and therefore don't pass the link "value" to the new domain but any natural traffic you get from the links you built up will still get to you.

    It doesnt matter if the move is temporary or permanent, you can use a 302 for however long you want.

      My plan:

      Remove entire site from google index using webmaster tools

      Then, put new site on new domain up and running

      After that is done, delete entire site from old hosting server, and redirect domain to new domain, so that all my "fans" can find my new domain.

      Then index new site.

      What do you think?

        Sounds pretty fine to me. If I was in this position I would use a 302 redirect if I really wanted nothing to do with those links from an SEO point of view but still wanted the visitors to find me.

    It's kind of like inheriting a telephone number. If it's in a bunch of peoples telephones and listed in the phone book and you get that number, then you will get some of those calls. You can not control the external factors.

    No matter what you do (even with 301's) you will encounter problems moving sites.

    But what is the alternative? So you do it, you work, you wait and things balance out.
