I have one site doing decently here are the search results for

Url /www.how-to-build-a-windmill.com Keyword(s) "how to build a windmill"

Google # 29 Yahoo Not in Top 100 Msn # 1

I have 180 backlinks in yahoo it is indexed, but I can't rank for crap in Yahoo.

It also bounces between #6-7 and #29-32 in Google on an almost daily if not hourly basis?

Any ideas or tricks?

Thanks

I am constantly #1 in MSN for about 5 of my pages and first page in Google but all are having problems in Yahoo?

Hmmm I must confess I don't actively try and rank in Yahoo.

One suggestion I would try is to get links from Yahoo based services such as Yahoo Answers, Flikr, Delicious etc.

Yes, they are nofollow but Yahoo (apparently) doesnt pay as much attention to it compared to Google.

Also, as they are Yahoo based services, they will like the links more.

Google is more about quality of the links, Yahoo less so and MSN it appears to be quantity really.

Hope that goes some way to helping!

It will take time to get ranked in yahoo... though I do not give so much attention, I have mine ranked always lower than google... yahoo is inconsistent.. sometimes you are on top and sometimes you are at the bottom..

You could always pay for the listing through their paid inclusion program. I can't post a link but just do a search for yahoo paid inclusion.

Just be careful as once you enroll, you end up getting stuck there as rankings often tank when you turn off the money.

Its funny that it is so much easier to get ranked in google by building backlinks. I have found yahoo to be more content driven and also likes fresh links. One of my sites randomizes content on part of the page and yahoo just loves crawling it.

The only difference that I know of from Yahoo to Google is that Yahoo considers any backlink as a good backlink. It is all about quantity for Yahoo, while for Google it is all about quality.
