My Website Traffic has Stopped Increasing for Last 3 Months

We started our blog WMSkill.com on January 2013. In start, there was a very slow increase in traffic, then it started having 300 daily visitors, after some days it increased to 1000/day. After some weeks it reached almost 2000 visits/day. But after it, it seemed to be hanged between 1500-2500 visits/day. Please tell me sure shot ways to get rid of this hanged condition.

    I'd say you need to post more content. Not sure if you stopped as you didn't mention. But more content means more long tail keywords (that you don't even target) and it will always increase traffic

    More content is what you need to generate more traffic. With that said...

    If you have google analytics installed. Check which traffic sources are bringing you the traffic. If you find any particular source, they try to monetize it by focusing more on that traffic source.

      Engage your visitors. Create a facebook page, Google+ and pinterest.

      Make things interesting and make something happen instead of just throwing news and articles out there.


      Looking quickly at the site, I didn't see a focus that would make me want to come back, it seems that you are throwing a different , somewhat related, piece of wet spaghetti against the wall every day or so and hoping some of it will stick.

        Thanks Robin for kind response, will you please clarify what does it really meant by "Make things interesting and make something happen"? I do post new happenings that I think could be interesting to people.

      we have almost 800 posts till now, I think it can be more than the traffic we are getting.

    Your site is not penalized.. your site is still performing good.. 1500 to 2000 visitors is good for any website.

    It may be that any keyword was ranking got lower a little due to competition I think.

      1500-2000 is not good for any website and in some cases that traffic can mean penalized. If Ehow or about or wikipedia only got 2000 visitors per day then there was something wrong.

      But in this case he is not penalized.

    You should promote your content where your posible customers are, like in forums and social networks, create how to articles and promote them, the promotion of your content is key to get traffic, I can see that the only thing you are doing is wait for your pages to be indexed and obtain search engine traffic in that way, nevertheless I think you can have a more proactive approach promoting your content where your prospects already hangs around, this will create backlinks and traffic.

    When the Google released its latest penguin update in last of may, PR and web traffic of mostly websites has been gone down. Website owners are worries and thinking to use latest techniques to increase the traffic and gain their previous PR again..
