Google has come up with link scheme update that states "Large-scale article marketing or guest posting campaigns with keyword-rich anchor text links", know more about it at :

https://support.google.com/webmaster...er/66356?hl=en

My query is that if i have the author bio that have links to one "exact match keyword" and one to the "brand name" as mentioned whether it will cause any problem to the exact match keyword ranking

Author bio:

Jenny writes for xyz.com(anchor text) which is the best website to play online games(anchor text).

Can i have atleast one link to the exact match keyword to improve the ranking, waiting for your thoughts.

You can have it, but you shouldn't use the same BIO and same keywords in toooo many places, which will definitely hurt you.

BTW this is not something NEW, this is very old one.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Maybe just enable your forum signature on selected posts, not all. That might limit the damage a forum signature could cause if linking back from a wholly unrelated page to your niche site.

Guys don't get your knickers in a big twist about this one. Put what was said in "context". Again, it's just about "Large Scale" linkfarm spam. Not those beautifully constructed, informative, user engaging guest posts, We all create.

How about some content from you then. Instead of these off topic one liners.

      The answer is 'Probably.'

Google has never been this explicit before in their communications about guidelines.

'Optimized anchor text' from guest posts are now 'forbidden.' First they make the announcement. Second, they will penalize sites.

Expect much more pain in the next month for those who have relied heavily on this tactic.

This is because, as I've explained before, the watershed change is that the 'footprint' that catches the 'spam' is now the anchor text itself. That makes it MUCH EASIER for Google to penalize pages.

The exact match keyword anchor can get you penalized, simple as that. The other one can't.

There is one thing that people are forgetting about this. Every link is an exact match anchor text for some keyword.

What Google is looking at is a little more complicated than just links with anchor text.

One link in your forum sig won't kill your site. It's when you see SPAM like:

              Miami Foreclosures|Foreclosure Miami|Foreclosures in Miami

That's blatant over-optimization and your site will most likely get canned by G Man.

No question. Still, they have suddenly gotten very explicit with language when they almost never were before.

If a site is more authorititative then there's more leeway with the anchors, but very new sites get dumped real quick if they over do it.

Local 'real business' websites should avoid link schemes simply because the owners never want to replace their domains.

These guidelines are nothing new. They are simply becoming more aggressive in following it up.

I read the Forum Optimization guidelines years ago but it doesn't seem to sink in on WF.

As per my view officially they listed or not but they already started dying such like Article directories, Bookmarking low quality sites, Low quality directory sites etc...

So until you have 10000s of them it shall be not a question to worry as they google themselves know most of marketer do it...

But if you do quality few submissions it shall be ok... It is right time now to think to shift to tiered link building and keep as less as quality links directly pointing to money site

    My 2 cents...

Well, are press releases still safe so long as you use naked urls with no anchor text? I'm just about to launch a new website and I was thinking of buying one of those expensive prnewswire press releases.

I am using more "branding" anchors.

    Say my site is:

    http://IamAwesome.com

Then, not only do I user naked urls (like above), but I also use:

    IamAwesome.com
    IamAwesome
    I Am Awesome

Do this even when not linking to your money site homepage too. Look at "natural" site link profiles. There is a ton of random anchors (use cheap links for this), and also a lot of branding.

Think if you were Google. You see a blog linking to another site.
If it's a natural link to "quality" content. Would they use money anchors?
    Sometimes, yes.

    Do they use naked URLs?
    Yes!

    Do they use Branding?
    Yes, a lot!

    Do they use random anchors?
Not really, except for "click here" or "this site" sometimes.
