NOFOLLOW REDIRECT for Affiliate Links???

Hi,

I think Google doesn't like affiliate links, so I would like to know if it's advised to make them NOFOLLOW and REDIRECT, both in one...

...I guess status bar cloaking from visitors is anyway unpermitted...

Would anyway make all outbound links NOFOLLOW.

So the REDIRECT remains: the idea is that I'd beam the visitor with an internal link to a NOINDEX page through a NOFOLLOW link, then as they arrive on that (internal) page, they get automatically redirected to the affiliate site.

I watched some Matt Cutts vids and have read all sorts of articles.

But not sure if right now in summer 2013 it is allowed or not.

What do you advise? Go for it or "no go"?

I pretty much do what you have said but I also usually block the folder where the links are with a robots file.

That's an interesting idea... I never used a folder so far. I was thinking about putting the files on the root.

Yeah on my main affiliate site I never put any affiliate links into any of the pages I want to appear on search. Instead I send them to an internal page which then redirects them to the merchant. I 'no-follow' the links from the main pages and then 'no index' the pages with the links on. As they are all now in one folder I block it with the robots file.
