Is a sitewide Link from wp.com PR3 sub-blog worth anything?

Greetings... I wrote on a blogname.wordpress.com subdomain in the past and the blog has a PR3 since two years. I wonder if I can make a few dollars with it when I sell a just a few sitewide links (max 10 for example in the sidebar link section I created). What do you think? Is a sitewide link from awordpress subdomain blog worth 5$, 10$ or even more a month?

I wouldn't fancy doing something that Google is so openly trying to discourage people from doing, and to penalize them for doing. The potential value, to me, would depend on the relevance of the site to mine (and on whether its a linky spamfest, or might become one, of course). I certainly don't want backlinks from irrelevant sites just because the page on which the backlink appears happens to have some PR - too many of those could easily be "a red rag to a bull" in a future algorithm update. Anyway, this is the place to discuss it: Adsense / PPC / SEO Discussion Forum

Yes, some people are even willing to pay up to $50/month on a homepage PR3. It just depends where you find your buyers.

There are a lot of text link / backlink marketplace out there.

Just a suggestion that instead of text links ads you should think about offering banner or text+banner links and then there will be more chances to attract some advertisers.

Thanks for your opinion but I do not think that today anybody would still click on a banner. I can´t imagine that anybody would be interested to rent such a banner expect for getting the pagerank flow. Also I really dislike banners. They look like "Hey common click here". In my opinion it´s the worst thing a webmaster could do. It´s like forcing their members to click anywhere and it makes a site look like junk. What I want is selling a sitewide blogroll link just for the matter of giving pagerank juice. I was just unsure what I could take for it monthly.

Your belief that something (which actually happens tens or even hundreds of millions of times per day) isn't happening at all makes it close-to-impossible to discuss it with you intelligently. I'm not trying to be impolite to you just for the sake of it, but that's a seriously bizarre thing to to believe.

It´s also bizzare to think that ten million possible clicks a day compared to every clicks done a day in the internet by users is something cool or much. But what is even more bizzare compared to your statement, is that some very well know websites ask their users today to disable adblocker. Maybe not so many clicks, huh? Opinions might be different. My opinion is that banners are ugly and blatant. Talking about banners goes away from the main subject I asked. Point. Btw. I can´t imagine when I saw the last banner. Pretty happy about my adblocker plugin. Any other questions?

I happen to agree with you about that, overall (but it has absolutely nothing to do with the entirely mistaken and most remarkable belief you expressed above!).

Yes. Here's one: are you going to learn that in the long run you'll get far more value and benefit out of the Warrior Forum by acknowledging your mistakes and by not coming across as dismissive or patronizing?

Well are you building the website for yourself or for the majority of people who will visit it? It is very easy to make this mistake. For example I don't care much for pictures and graphics when browsing the net. I want good actionable information and forget about the fluff. So if I build a site for myself the graphics would not be important but if I want other people to actually like my site I need graphics because in reality most people love pics and graphics. Now I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the number of users with an adblocker are far outweighed by the number of users who don't have them.

    Depends on two things:

    1) do you want the PR3 sub domain link for pure SEO value

    or

    2) do you want residual traffic from a potentially popular WP blog
