targeted keywords in articles

For my site, I am writing articles and putting keywords in there that are targeted for Adsense ads, which should pay on avg $1-2 per click after Google takes their slice. The articles I am writing are around 150 words. I know that Google prefers 250-300 word articles the most, so my question, albeit a newbie one, is as follows:

Will google penalize me or not run the ads that i am trying to keyword target because my articles are 150 words?

thanks

They won't penalize you but more than likely you won't get a lot of views on those articles either. Google looks at all the content on the page not just the Title/H1 tags with so little content it will be hard to rank without some serious backlinking. Why not take the time and write some nice 500 word articles as well?

As far as I know you won't get penalized on what you are doing, however less are the chances that the articles you wrote will b viewed. Google examines the over-all site content not just fragments of it. It'll be helpful if you wrote longer and diversed articles for your site. Make sure that this'll be interesting and eye catching (niche related of course )

Hi to all... Either you write an article of 500 words or 200 words doesn't matter. The most important thing is that is it informative or providing the exact information regarding the topic that you have choose for the title. If you can deliver whole information in 200 words then you have no need to write 500 words.

The point of writing 500 words is that more than likely 200 words will not go into any depth on most subjects. Now if the site simply answers very specific questions then this could work as you could get a lot of long tail keywords. You would have to be writing a lot of these mini post though.
