I have been running a few payday loan websites and i have been penalised by google for site quality. Is this because my application form goes through a pingtree and this looks like a thin affliate site

one of the urls penalised was www.magiclend.co.uk

please see the application form .

I would interested to your thoughts on this.

If i made my own applciation form would this help ?

It won't have anything to do with the fact you use a Pingtree.

It because the site is a thin affiliate site, you're also deceiving the visitor into thinking you lend the money when you don't - using phrases like " Magic Lend is one of the most trusted and responsible payday lenders" is not only a lie, but could get you into trouble with the FSA - especially as you're stating an invalid CCL number. It's only on the About Us page that you specify yourself as a broker.

I'm afraid your site offers no practical advice about loans, there's no information on there about responsible borrowing or how to pay back the loans, it's essentially just a data capture site. You need a lot more quality content.

Your backlink profile stinks of spam as well, so it's no surprise.

Google has really clamped down on sites like yours over the last month, and it's very unlikely you'll ever get it back into the index. In fact, there are near enough no broker sites for payday loans left in the Google serps any more.

thanks ecopac are you saying that google does not allow payday loan brokers. I would be very surprised.

i doubt it is because i say am lender rather than a broker.

so you are saying if the content was more helpful it still would not help ?

No I'm not saying they don't allow them, but I imagine that because of the spam tactics of the likes of Pingtree Ltd and T3 Leads, they take a very dim view on them.

You wouldn't have got penalised because you say you're a lender and you're not, but from a blunt point of view why should you be in their index when you're misleading your visitors?

I think some good quality content - not over written with keywords - would help, but I honestly think that Google just doesn't know what to do with payday loans at the moment and I'm not sure that they'll ever put you back into the index unless you completely start again - all you can do is try.

Their webmaster tools are useless when they send you the 'pure spam' message and you get a manual penalty, it's like a guessing game to know what it is they want you to do to make it better.

I'm not saying you are doing this, but traditionally payday broker sites are full of spam and were there to rank for a few days, make a ton of money then rinse and repeat with a different site.

i was using the t3 leads form which raised my suspicions that it could be this and i would be better off making my own form. Do you think that could also be a problem ?

it is tough when you do not know what they want ?

i agree with you that i am better off starting again the question is how to not to repeat the same mistake again ?

I am not convinced it's the application form, but I guess it could be.

If you start again, you need to make sure you have good quality content, a sound site structure and good quality backlinks.

Which is nigh on impossible with payday loans, nobody will want to link with you, take your articles or generally have anything to do with you because payday loans is a dirty word at the moment.

Social media doesn't work either unless you're buying likes/followers - nobody wants their friends to know they like a payday loan company!

It's a tough market out there!

Well Payday Loans is one of the hardest you'll find at the moment, if you can make a site rank well for that, you should be ok with anything else you pick! As long as you're keeping within the rules!

It's up to you pal, pick something you're interested in, it's much easier to write good content when you've got a genuine interest in it
