How to estimate market pottential via Adwords keyword tool ?

If you got a niche, is it enough to estimate the market niche pottential by only looking for the major keywords people using on google ?

For example if there for a country of 7 million people there is 1,600 monthly searches on Google for "hemorrhoid treatment" and 1,300 for "treatment of hemorrhoids"
and 400 for "hemorrhoid medicine" .

Does this means that there are 1,600+1,300+400 = 3300 potential customers for hemorrhoids cure ?

Also how much keywords, phrases and their varieties on average are to be add for lets say 1000 searches in niche?

    Roughly speaking, yes, that would be the idea - if you're using exact match, the only overlap would be the same searcher punching in different keywords while searching.

      Ok but is there a way to eliminate the double searches. In other words the searches by same user but different combinations of words ?

    Even If you rank #1 for all those keyword phrases, you'll be lucky to get 50% of that traffic from that single ranked page, so for your example search volume combined you would be looking at roughly 1,650 traffic.

    BTW, you would still pick up additional longtail traffic for every ranked page you have. Make sure to track incoming search phrases so you can optimize later on for other popular same niche keywords.
