Hi Guys,

I've got a strange thing that i cant manage to figure out.
on one of my pages i made a nice xml sitemap wich got indexed by google within a matter of days ( 3 ) And google now indexed 6 / 10 pages

But i'm not getting any organic trafic yet and I cant find the site with "whatsmyserp" yet..

But on my other site wich i think i blew first site ever for me to try and i tink i overdid the backlinking and google penalized me for quite a bit went from 4 to 170.
Now i redid some pages and redid the xml upload but google refuses to index the "pages"
In webmaster tools it tels me 3 pages are uploaded and 0 indexed for about 2 weeks now.

The only diference between these 2 pages xml wise is that the one that got indexed fast is tweeting and facebooking his posts and the other not..
And other big diference is that the one that got indexed fast is having all his posts in the "message area " and the one thats failing got the posts in "pages" wich ..

Is there something about google not indexing "pages" or is google just penalizing me for it and not indexing anything anymore at all?

I doubt the xml file has anything to do with your rank position.

An xml file is more about getting Google to index/reindex content/pages. Either the xml file is valid or it isn't, which you can verify the file inside GWT (Google Webmaster Tools). It's still possible for GWT to show a valid xml file even If you have broken URLs inside the xml file (not saying that's the case here).

Look at your internal/external links & on-page SEO, that's most likely where the problem is.

@Zeroaffiliate i got a plugin for wordpress wich turns out to work fine couse i use it for both sites exactly the same way. Both sites are indexed by google but the diference is the webmaster panel shows me more than one page indexed from sitemap on the one site and only 1 page indexed on the other site.

So its more that they don't show in google webmaster tools as indexed in the sitemap part.

XML sitemap submission doesn't rank your content in SERPs. It just helps Google to crawl and index your pages and posts. Secondly, it isn't recommended to submit sitemaps frequently. Do it only if you have built a lot of pages/posts and Google isn't indexing them.. Instead build (dofollow) backlinks from AUTHORITY sites. Facebook and Twitter links are also not going to rank you...

That's correct, meanwhile it'll be better to consider more about onpage optimization and offpage optimization other than xml sitemaps (it's true it helps SE to index your website but SE can index websites even without having a xml sitemap if that website has a proper internal linking structure).
