Facebook Ads are Receiving No Impressions. What Am I Doing Wrong?

I have just starting running ads with Facebook and to say this has been frustrating is an understatement. My ads are finally getting approved (after a weird waiting period) but now they are receiving no impressions.

I am promoting a local event and my potential reach is 124,000. I am not sure if that is wide enough or not, but I targeted as many interests as I could think of.

I also increased my bid to $1.50 over the .84 maximum bid and still nothing. Does it take some time before the impressions come up? Or do they start immediately? Any suggestions on what I can do?

Thanks guys!

If I were you, I would shrink that audience down. You said you targeted "as many interests as you could think of". Instead, try removing some of the interests you added and target a smaller, more specific audience. Targeting a large audience does not mean you will get more actions on your ad.

But if you shrink down your audience, the price will become higher right?

Facebook is expensive to advertise on, try upping the bid again. Sometimes you have to start a bit high, and the price goes down after a while....hopefully.

My facebook advertising did absolutely nothing for me as far as I can tell, my normal engagement did not go up after I stopped paying for ads.

I would begin by using the "recommended" bid.

Then you can lower your costs while you acquire more stats to work with.
