Strange! Please explain me :(

Hi,

I am using a guy for my SEO and really his results are by far the best i have seen.

Within weeks he has got my new sites to number 8 in Google and some are still there (for over 6 months through updates etc.).

When I check for backlinks NONE show up for my site at all...and also no 301s or anything either.

How is he doing it without any backlinks showing up..at first you would think it is blackhat but once they get to number 1 they haven't moved at all...over months and in really competitive niches.

Also, he has no access to my site I just give him the URL.

Any ideas?

Don't worry because he probably is doing a very nice job but the matter is when you use the link command on Google, you will not find recently added links to your web pages, sometimes even if there are hundreds of incoming links pointing to your web pages, Google only shows a small number of them. You would be better off by using Webmaster Tools, where links reports get updated much faster. The improved results in your custom SEO profile already proves the tactics used by your consultant are working.

You could block useragents (majesticseo, ahrefs) and others from crawling the pages. This stops people easily footprinting link profiles But they should be appearing in your webmasters.

  You are either not using the right backlink checkers or he is using a network and is blocking the robots that backlink checkers use.

Or the OP is spouting vacuously for sig spam. It's something about those three emoticons used at the end that turn me into a sceptical SOB.

  I love to use emoticons but that doesn't mean I am spamming here. I really don't understand the relation between using emoticons and sig spamming ...

Odd nothing shows up, even if he was using some hidden network links I'd expect a few direct to the money site for show. But as others have said, if it's working then that's all that matters.

Majestic and Ahrefs made it so easy to reverse engineer and saturate link sources, so it's a good thing he's hiding them.
