Hi Warriors...
I asked this question not too long ago but want to ask it again as I'd really like to get your thoughts on this one.

Q: For a domain name made up of 2 or more words (eg take the words Dog Lessons) is it better to separate them with a hypen for SEO purposes **OR** doesn't it matter??

Eg
www.DogLessons.com
Vs
www.Dog-Lessons.com

Does the hypen improve SEO or not??

:-) Beaumont

As far as right now, I see noting that leads me to believe that a hyphen or underscore affects the seo for a page, I have a lot of sites top 3 in google some with hyphens and some without

Hyphens used to help, now they don't matter - so I both see and I hear.
I got no irrefutable stats though

hyphenated names however seem to be impossible to communicate verbally

It doesn't matter... SEO depends on how you do it...

Take a look at the following example of long hyphened successful domain
    Code:
    http://www.language-school-teachers.com

It really doesn't matter at all...In fact it can help because it makes domain names available that otherwise would have been taken.

It won't affect your SEO but it can affect your traffic because it is rather hard to remember names with dashes so you might lose some direct traffic because of this.

Hyphenated names can also be undesirable if you are planning to sell the website later on. Though there is no negative impact on SEO there is still a negative stigma associated with these URLs.
