I had a post on this forum with the above title and now it's gone. Was it deleted? Why would my post be deleted?

I was trying to find out what I have have done on my blog that would cause my my google ranking to sink to page 6 when I was getting top of page one. My blog has been active now for 2 years. We write approximately 4 articles a week. It took a long time to get such a high ranking.

If anyone can help and if you need to see my blog, let me know and I'll send you my blog URL.

Thanks
Mark

Well It can happen as Google always change its algorithm so ups and down on Google is a natural thing.I would say to wait few weeks and see what happens. I hope you didn't get any hit from major algorithmic update.

  • Accelerated,

No one will be able to tell you definitively what happened. Only you know what you have been doing to the site recently. Think of all the changes you made recently or that you told others to make.

Check the backlink profile and see if any strange links have been added recently. Also, it could just be that others are outranking you for specific keyword phrases.

    Best,

Yeah, sites drop in and out of ranking all the time. Google just seems to like to mix things up and keep us on our toes. If it doesn't come back within a few weeks, then there may be something going on.

I would try boosting it with some good link juice. If it responded positively, then that means you just need more authority for your site (more links). If it doesn't respond or goes down in ranking, then you may have some sort of penalty applied (most likely over-optimization from all the blog posts, if they're low quality).

Also, I believe google now makes it possible to see if a manual penalty was applied to your site via google webmaster tools. If you have an account there, check it out.
